Welcome

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters in Counseling located in North/Central Austin, Texas.  Starting in 2019, I will only be working with clients via BetterHelp an e_counseling platform or Getcerebral.com.  I have listed the address above under my name on the site.  I no longer meet with clients in an office setting.
My practice is focused on supporting families and couples.  I work with families dealing with all levels of transition:  Co-Parenting/Divorce, Senior Care, Infertility issues with couples and parenting support.

I enjoy working with adolescents, and young children, as well.
I have eight years working with families and couples.  I worked several years with middle school students and teenagers with the Austin Child Guidance Center.

I believe in helping parents weigh choices, and I am very passionate about teens and parental issues. I have learned to listen and to empathize with kids, allowing their voices to be heard.

I remind my teen-aged clients that I am not one of their parents, their teachers, or their doctors.  My relationship with them is quite different.

After becoming a parent myself and learning to apply my training, I’ve found that the best starting place is to allow each member of a family to be heard, defining issues which exist, anticipating issues which can’t be avoided.

Couples and Infertility

This can be a frusturating time for families to begin or grow.  Medical professionals do their best to support couples through this process. Men often feel confused on how to fix the problem.  Women blame themselves unnecessarily so and may get lost in society norms. This process sometimes comes with no clear direction or map. Identifying goals and staying focused, while supporting one another, can be where strength is found.  I offer a compassionate place to validate the awkwardness that presents itself and the encouragement to continue creating the family you hope for.

Adolescents

I work with tweens and teens within schools, and I'm constantly intrigued by their thought process and response to the world.  I learn daily from them and strive to understand their perspective.  I side on safety when dealing with confidentiality and empower them to make different choices.
