SUMMER ONLINE SURFING?

How will your child or screenager spend their ONLINE time this summer?

"Take advantage of a one time group session - 90 minutes - for your child to hear about being safe online from someone else other than you!"

Sign up now for a Digital Down Low group session to help prepare your child how to best use devices this summer. This one time group meeting will additionally help kids that participate in summer sleepovers, travel to other family homes and empower them to make better choices with or without their parents. This is a one time group session not a series of sessions.  Kids meet once to learn more about online safety before summer sends them down the digital rabbit hole.

The small group (6-7 kids per group) will match same gender and age kids. Session content will vary between developmental ages of kids as groups are assigned.  We will incorporate games and exercises helping younger participant with online social skills building. Another benefit to our group session will be having teen involvement so that the lead counselor is not speaking primarily from an adult perspective. When it comes to navigating Instagram, Snapchat and other social media platforms, kids are the best teachers of how to avoid embarrassing moments.

Session for Incoming 2nd Grade – 8th grade groups (registration form will ask for your preference dates/times so we can build our groups)

Middle school groups are designed to be open, honest and help discuss problems that adults make so that participants can learn that everyone is vulnerable when releasing too much private information. This age is savvy to learning underground ways to connect with peers, so our time spent helps them more with self-esteem and not falling prey to false realities presented online.  Confidentiality becomes critical to the  content of this group session.
